I have worked in a variety of media and disciplines throughout my career. My first degree, in Art Education, led to teaching cartography and several years in technical drafting. I returned to school for a degree in Architecture and worked for fifteen years as a registered Architect. I also study medieval art and calligraphy less formally, as a scribe in the Society for Creative Anachronism.
My main focus as an artist lay in painting, with a special interest in color and pattern. This made an easy transition to crazy quilts, particularly since I have had a needle in my hand for most of my life.
